Anatomy of the Heart

Understanding the anatomy of the heart is paramount in any healthcare-related field.  This short, 4-minute video is a quick refresher on the way blood is pumped through the body by the heart.

To reiterate:
1. Deoxygenated blood enters the superior vena cava (SVC)
2. Then enters the right atrium
3. Tricuspid valve
4. Flows into the right ventricle
5. Through the pulmonary artery
6. Lungs
7. Into the left atrium through the pulmonary vein
8. Passed the bicuspid/mitral valve
9. Into the left ventricle
10. And out through the aorta into the body

The next step in understanding cardiopulmonary physiology is understanding the electrical signal of the heart

A short 4-minute video breaking down the electrical signaling process can be viewed here.

Thank you and hope this helps!
