Simple, delicious 5 ingredient green bean casserole

With thanksgiving just around the corner you can’t go wrong with this easy semi homemade green bean casserole for the work potluck!

Ingredients:

  1. 1. Fresh green beans (about 1 lb)
  2. 2. Bacon strips (6-8 strips, depending on your bacon-to-bean ratio preference)
  3. 3. Cream of mushroom soup (1 can)
  4. 4. French-fried onions (1 cup)
  5. 5. Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2. Trim the ends of the green beans and blanch them in boiling water for about 5 minutes. You want them to be tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.

  3. 3. In a skillet, cook the bacon until it's crispy. Once done, crumble it into small pieces.

  4. 4. In a mixing bowl, combine the blanched green beans, crumbled bacon, cream of mushroom soup, a bit of the crispy French-fried onions and salt and pepper. Mix everything well.

  5. 5. Transfer the mixture into a baking dish and spread it evenly.

  6. 6. Top the casserole with French-fried onions.

  7. 7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until the casserole is hot and bubbly, and the onions are golden brown.

  8. 8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Enjoy your tasty, bacon-infused green bean casserole! Feel free to add another can of cream of mushroom soup if you’d like it creamier. Let me know what you think and if you add anything extra!
