Simple 5 Ingredient Alfredo Sauce

Ingredients:

  1. 1 cup (2 sticks) of unsalted butter
  2. 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter version)
  3. 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  4. 2 cloves garlic, minced (or 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder)
  5. Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. 1. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium-low heat.

  2. 2. Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic (or garlic powder) and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, or until the garlic is fragrant. Be careful not to brown the garlic.

  3. 3. Stir in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.

  4. 4. Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese, a little at a time, until the sauce is smooth and the cheese is fully incorporated. Continue to cook and stir until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.

  5. 5. Season the Alfredo sauce with salt and black pepper to taste. Keep in mind that Parmesan cheese can be salty, so taste it before adding too much salt.

  6. 6. Once the sauce reaches your desired thickness and is well-seasoned, remove it from the heat. It will continue to thicken as it cools.

  7. 7. Serve the Alfredo sauce over your favorite pasta, such as fettuccine, linguine, or spaghetti. You can also add cooked chicken, shrimp, or vegetables for a complete meal.

This homemade Alfredo sauce is rich, creamy, and delicious. Enjoy it as a simple and satisfying topping for your pasta dishes. Let me know what you think!
