How To Make The Best and Simplest Mexican Rice!

Spanish style rice has such amazing flavors. The spices, the tomato, the onion!
Mexican rice can have all of those ingredients added to it. However, in order to get to adding pizzaz to a recipe, you need to first master the dish at its core.

Today, we will be making the simplest Mexican style rice you've ever made. Now, if you want to add some onion or even some cilantro, you can definitely add that in while your rice is toasting... But if not, that's totally fine too!

What you'll need:
-1 cup of rice
-1 Knorr Tomato Bouillon with Chicken Flavor Cube
-3 tablespoons of vegetable oil (or any oil), basically you need enough to coat your pan
-2 cups of water

**Remember: If you are changing up the quantities of this recipe and are unsure of the amount of water to add, a good rule of thumb is 2 parts water to 1 part rice.**

In order to start your rice, you're going to want to get a saucepan that has a lid (mine is about 1.5-2 inches deep) and coat the bottom of the pan with oil. Set your stovetop to medium heat

After your oil is nice and hot, add in your rice to toast. For this recipe, I keep it simple and add 1 cup of rice. This usually feeds 3-4 people in my household. The toasting is a very important step! Mix your rice around and keep your eye out for some color!

Your rice should go from a pale white color to a toasty tan color

Once you start to notice your rice changing colors, drop the stovetop temperature to a low/simmer. Then, take 1 Tomato Bouillon with Chicken Flavor Knorr cube and place it in your pan.

Break up the cube and mix the seasoning around with the rice.
Lastly, add 2 cups of water to the pan. Your pan should start to sizzle when introduced to the water. That's completely normal.

After you add your water, set a timer for 20 minutes, and place the lid on your pan. Be sure to check the rice at about 15 minutes to see if you need to add a little more water. Once the rice is done, serve it with some Mexican Mole or any of your favorite Spanish style dishes and ENJOY!
